A New Way of Life: Alcoholics Anonymous
3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Health Hub now holds weekly Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings on Thursdays at 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A. Meetings may include readings from AA literature, personal stories of recovery and open discussion guided by the Twelve Steps. All who have a desire to stop drinking are welcome, regardless of background or length of sobriety.

Friday, Apr. 24, 2026 from noon to 5 p.m.
The Women in Science, Dentistry and Medicine (WISDM) Faculty Organization will host an afternoon of networking and professional development through enhancement of leadership skills. The conference theme is "Time to Lead: Reclaiming Your Path in Health Care and Science." The event will be held at the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center, 900 Turpin St. Registration will begin at the end of February 2026.

Open to All Majors – IDES 391-002: Black and Indigenous Design (Online)
Black and Indigenous Design explores black and indigenous relationships to non-human others through the lens of decolonial design methods. Students will engage in soil studies, decolonial spatial design, black and indigenous science fiction texts and explore epistemological themes in Black and indigenous Science and Technology Studies asking how to create decolonial and community-oriented methods for architecture, urban design and art creation. Deliverables will include both creative artistic/design outcomes as well as written analysis. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9:15 a.m. 3 cr. On-line Synchronous.

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health
This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 20 and 24 with poor sleep quality. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Risk-Taking in Eating Disorders Study
The Translational Research on Eating and Affect (TREAT) Lab is recruiting adolescents and young adults assigned female at birth (aged 12 to 25 years) for a brain imaging study to understand risky decision-making in individuals who have concerns about their body shape/weight, or overeat, purge, use laxatives, diet severely or exercise excessively. We are also investigating these processes in individuals without a psychological disorder. There will be compensation for participation. Be Part of Our Study on Family Meal Times and Health Among Black Families (Compensation Provided)
Black parents/caregivers and their children (ages 8-12) are invited to share their experiences with race, family meal times and health through a small-group conversation in the Richmond area. This feedback will inform future community programming that promotes family discussions about race, nutritious meals and more.
