Parking Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations
Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking from May 20-22 (Wednesday-Friday) and May 26-29 (Tuesday-Friday). Through May 22, all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to the West Cary Street Deck, 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, 100 S. Jefferson St.; Henry Street Deck, 200 N. Henry St., or West Main Street Deck, 801 W. Main St. From May 26-29 (Tuesday-Friday), West Broad Street Deck subscribers may relocate to the above listed locations if preferred, but are not required.
A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by Parking and Transportation May 20-22 and May 26-29 to transport subscribers to and from on-campus locations. RamSafe shuttles will run continuously to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin streets, Franklin and Laurel streets and Shafer and Franklin streets from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. If a VCU parking subscriber needs transportation between the hours of 6:31 p.m. and 6:29 a.m., they can place a ride request through the RamSafe using the Ride Pingo app.
Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck May 22 and May 26-29. MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Henry Street Deck or West Main Street Deck.

Looking for a group that allows you to connect with others and nature and also improves your health? The Health Hub hosts Wednesday Walks, which provide the opportunity for a walk in Church Hill. Each walk will begin and end at the Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A, and visits different parts of the neighborhood.

Wilder School Lunch and Learn for May: Frontline Insights on Advancing Regional Quality of Life

The May alumni lunch hosted by VCU's L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs will feature Joe Casey, Ph.D., county administrator for Chesterfield County and a leader in local government in central Virginia. Casey has held leadership roles in Hanover, Henrico and Chesterfield counties since 1990. During this virtual conversation, Casey will discuss regional progress, the partnerships that have driven change and the quality-of-life factors that continue to shape central Virginia. Healthy Adult Volunteers Needed

Join our VCU Health Clinical Research Study today. We’re seeking healthy adult volunteers to participate in a first in-human clinical trial to evaluate the safety and tolerability of single ascending doses of investigational study drug. This clinical trial study will last 28 Days. PI: Alpha A. Fowler, M.D. Eligibility Criteria: Participants must be 18-65 years old, in good general health with no clinically significant medical conditions. Memory Café at the VCU Health Hub
Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Alzheimer's Association will host a Memory Café at the VCU Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A. Those with early-stage memory loss can connect in a social space while care partners gain support and information. The bonds formed in Memory Cafés often last throughout the continuum of the disease and become additional support for those involved.

Data Exploration, Visualization and Descriptive Statistics

VCU's Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research will host a lunch research seminar via Zoom. Nuha Farhat, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Mathematics and Economics, Virginia State University, will discuss interpreting research results and producing outputs that can be used in academic papers, reports and teaching materials. In this hands-on, virtual workshop, participants will generate summary statistics, explore relationships in data and create publication-ready visualizations using ggplot2. VCU's ICA Will Be Closed Saturday, May 23 – Friday, May 29
VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center (ICA), 601 W. Broad St., will be closed May 23–29. While the ICA's galleries are undergoing installation, the Abby Moore Café team is taking a short seasonal break and will reopen Saturday, May 30 at 10 a.m. Come to the ICA that evening at 7 p.m. for a special video screening and the Bubbles Con 2026 closing party. Galleries will remain closed for installation until Friday, June 5.

Fun, Beginner-Friendly AI Course Coming Fall 2026 (New Gen Ed and Practical AI Minor Course)
EDUS 268 – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Education will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m.–12:15 p.m. in Room 0440, Hibbs Hall, 900 Park Ave. This Fall 2026 course is part of the VCU General Education Curriculum and the Practical AI Minor. Play with AI, learn with fun, be future-ready with AI, no coding experience required, low-pressure learning environment. This is a hybrid-synchronous course with two meetings each week: one online synchronous session will include a discussion about AI and machine learning applications in teaching and learning, assessment policy and research. One in-person session in which students will explore AI tools and create projects that apply AI/ML to real-world problems. No quizzes. Instead, students will work in teams to explore, develop and propose an AI/ML-based idea to address a real-world problem. This course is designed to be a hands-on, beginner-friendly AI playground for students from different backgrounds.

Participants Are Invited For Study Examining the Impact of Cold Water Immersion on Symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have GAD or symptoms of GAD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of cold water immersion on GAD symptoms with specific focus on blood vessel function. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principle Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
